Well hellooooo! And happy summer to you, if you are, in fact, enjoying summer at the moment. I’ve been having a lovely month of camping and beaches and swimming and sun. But August is here which means I’m back to work gearing up for back to school, and honestly, I’m already behind. How can that be possible!?
Anyways, I’m here with my latest Miss Matatabi Makers project, but since I ended up making two dresses, I’m sharing one here and the other on the Miss Matatabi blog! So check out Kaya’s wrap dress here and then head over there to see Yuki’s dress.
It’s nani IRO month! I’ve already proclaimed my love of nani IRO fabrics before, so I won’t bore you with my gushing about how wonderfully beautiful, intricate, bold yet delicate, and one-of-a-kind each of Naomi Ito’s designs are and what great quality the fabric is and how lovely it is to sew and how it’s even lovelier to wear. No, I don’t need to mention all of the many things I love about nani IRO fabric again, right?
I’m over on the Miss Matatabi blog today sharing these two dopp kits I made! I used these lovely canvas fabrics and the Zippered Dopp Kit tutorial from The Purl Bee and I’m loving how they came out.
I added a bit of decorative hand stitching to one to make a personalized gift for my honey! Check out all the details on Miss Matatabi!
(I’m still going strong wearing handmades for Me Made May, but definitely running out of new things to wear. I’m trying to remedy that with a couple new Scout Tees – how about you?)
Hey! So I haven’t finished sharing my last KCW makes, but before I do that, I’m stopping in to let you know that I’ve sewn up a new top for my Miss Matatabi Makers project this month!
Yo! Hey! How’s it going!? Long time, eh? How are you doing?
March has rolled in quickly and I feel like I’ve been slammed in all directions. Overwhelmed is an understatement, but I know that it’ll pass. Just trying to ride it out. Anyone else having a crazy month so far?
Well I’m here to share my latest Miss Matatabi Makers project! I used some beautiful laminated nani IRO to make a changing pad and diaper clutch for the baby, er, toddler. It feels a little wrong to be changing dirty diapers on nani IRO, but I do love it so much!
Seriously, this is one lucky butt!

Besides this project I haven’t really done any sewing recently. I’ve been doing something else. Sorry sewing, I’ve been cheating on you. With knitting! Haha, yeah, I picked up the knitting needles recently to try and make myself a beanie. I’ll let you know how that goes if/when I finish. 🙂

Hey! Happy February! How are you all doing? January went really well for me! I spent a lot less time sewing and blogging and more time cooking and walking and sleeping. Which felt great! I’d kind of gotten into a good groove, but then all it takes is Hideko getting sick and everything feels like chaos again! But we’ve made a few small changes to our every day lives and we’re trying to declutter plus buy/accumulate less. It feels like a long process, but as long as we don’t give up right?

Hello!! I hope that, for those of you who celebrated, you had a wonderful Thanksgiving filled with friends, family, gratitude and food! I’ve been enjoying a bit of a break from sewing and blogging recently, but I’m here today with a long overdue Miss Matatabi Makers project!
